Top Terminal Foundation - Concrete Pour

Written 05/19/22

Last Friday, four trucks trekked up to the Summit of Mount Tecumseh to pour foundations for the top terminal of our new 6-pack bubble lift.

Friday was a balmy spring day. The sky was clear, the sun was shining, buds were popping and birds were chirping. You couldn't ask for better weather to pour concrete. In fact, the concrete hardened so fast, that by the time crews were pouring the third footing, the first footing had hardened enough to walk on.

One truck functioned as a pump truck, meaning its primary role was to pump the concrete out of the other three trucks. The pump truck was too heavy to get up the mountain on its own, so it was dragged up the mountain on a logging skidder.

A lot of concrete was poured. The three concrete trucks had to return to their HQ to refill with concrete four or five times before the footings were complete.
