COMMUNITY NEWS
Irish Dancers in Town
The Waterville Valley Feis returns to the Valley on Saturday & Sunday, May 3 & 4. The competition will be held in the Ice Arena and they welcome spectators.
Community Clean-up
On Friday, May 9, meet at the Recreation Department parking lot at 10 a.m. to take part in the annual community clean-up. Trash bags will be provided, bring gloves if you have them. A spring-themed thank you gift will be provided by Roper Real Estate.
Brush Pick-up Day
Waterville Valley’s Department of Public Works will pick up brush piles on Monday, May 12. Have your piles out by 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9, so DPW can plan their route. Do not put out branches over 4” thick or 4 feet long, stumps, root balls, firewood, lumber or building materials. No “pro” piles from contractor clean-ups. Contractor yard services can haul brush directly to the Transfer Station Facility (call 603-236-4730 for drop-off arrangements).
Waterville Valley Historical Society Happenings
Trolley Tours: On May 25 the Trolley will emerge from its long winter nap and the Waterville Valley Historical Trolley Guides will once again be on board to share the Valley’s history. Please join us on Sundays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., from May 25 through October 12, for a one-hour tour. Meet the trolley at the Town Square shuttle stop. Historical Society guides will regale you with stories and photos going back to our Town’s beginning in the early 1800s. Tours are free, with no reservations, but seating is limited. Tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Great Waterville Valley Historical Society Scavenger Hunt 2025: Board Member Carole Flegel is busy putting together the clues for this year’s Hunt. The Hunt is open to everyone. Decipher the clues to find what you seek. Prizes will be awarded to all who successfully complete the Quest. Here is a practice clue to prepare you for the Hunt: Beginning on July 1, seek and you will find your Scavenger Hunt Packet at Waterville Valley’s most happening place, where all activities begin. More information will follow.
Self-Guided Walking Tours: If you are curious about the colorful green and blue posts with a QR code scattered throughout the Valley, take a minute and scan one. They are Waterville’s “Wonderpoints.” The Waterville Valley Foundation and Historical Society worked together to provide you with Waterville information, both current and historical. The historical posts provide information and photos that will take you back to the “old Waterville,” while the informational posts talk about the more “current Waterville.” Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the Valley the next time you are out for a stroll.
