End of the Road
Dear diary,
This is it for Winter 2025. And as is only fitting, it’s piling up out there. Grab your fattest pair of classic skis and get out there for what is quite possibly the last powder day of the season. February was one of the best months of skiing we’ve had in a long time, with 100% of the trails open for most of the month. Hopefully you were able to get out there and eat your fill. But if you’re still hungry, there’s leftovers on the table free for the taking. Remember, there are no bad conditions, just naive expectations and too pristine of equipment. Per usual, Tripoli will remain skiable long after our official closing date. You may have to venture further and further up Tripoli by foot to find the skiing, but it’ll be there for the chosen few who make the trek. Skiing after Saturday will be at your own risk.
We hope you enjoyed your skiing experience and that you’ll join us for another go around next winter. Remember to snag your season pass before April 30th to get the best deal this side of the Mississippi. And don’t forget to drop your skis off to give them the loving coat of summer wax they deserve. Thanks for joining us on this adventure of a season, and if we don’t see you out there until the next one, enjoy your second favorite forms of outdoor activities in the meantime!
Okay, now that we’re down to just the dedicated Director’s Diary readers, let’s recap some highlights of this season! For starters, Tripoli saw less accidental vehicular action than usual and more skier action. There were only three cars stuck on the trails all year. That’s a win. Jennings Peak was opened for the first time in several years and we almost convinced the dog walkers to leave it alone. Our season was 134 days long, and we taught 283 people how to ski. We hosted 3 high school races and another great round of Special Olympics. We had all 76km open at our peak. And we saw countless smiles!
As we slog through all of the non-winter seasons, remember to do a snow dance every once in a while to encourage a huge year of snow in 2026. Never fear, it’s always winter somewhere.
Yours truly,
Ian, Adam, and Mo
