Waiting Game

There was still snow on the trails at dusk on Wednesday. The temperatures did not climb over 40 during the day and we saw a bit less rain than predicted. Now we wait to see how much is left on Thursday morning. Never fear, we will rise from the soggy ashes and get you back to your happy place out on the trails as soon as possible.

While we wait for the return to skiing, it’s a great time to review ski care. All skis love glide wax! Even those low maintenance “waxless” skis want in on the action. The waxless moniker is actually referring to kick wax, not glide wax. “But I don’t want to go faster, Ian.” Glide wax is still important! It hydrates the bases of your skis, helps prolong their life, and keeps sticky snow from accumulating on your skis. The frequency of waxing for most people will depend on their mileage, but in general it’s great to use a little glide wax cleaner to remove dirt and debris before applying fresh glide wax whenever your skis start to whiten. If you’re looking to have your skis do even more work for you, wax more often and match your wax to the temperature. If all of that starts to make your brain hurt, feel free to bring your skis by for an inspection and let our staff do the hard work for you!

Cheers,

Ian
