Saturday
Well, I tried to actualize the weather I wanted to see on Friday, but I didn’t quite succeed. Any snow that fell was only at very high elevations and we received a good bit of rain early Friday morning. The conditions were slushy out there and thin spots started to expand a bit.
Now for the good news, there is still snow on the trails. While we won’t be able to groom, the temperature is predicted to barely touch freezing overnight, which should keep the surface soft and enjoyable. If it does freeze up, it will likely soften within the first few hours of the day. So if you’re willing to dodge a couple thin spots and enjoy what snow there is no matter what, then it’s a ski day for you. If you’re someone who needs consistency and struggles with adapting to unforeseen circumstances, then you might want to stick to the bike trainer. And for anyone who needs a sign to make their skiing decision, there are only a few more days until Mercury is in retrograde.
Below are photos from Lower Osceola of a good section and a rough section for reference.
