WATERVILLE VALLEY RESORT ANNOUNCES NEW SURFACE LIFT

Waterville Valley, NH, ( March 13, 2025) -- Waterville Valley Resort is thrilled to announce the installation of a new state-of-the-art surface lift, scheduled to debut during the start of the 2025/26 Winter season.

Manufactured by MND Ropeways, this new T-Bar will enhance uphill capacity and improve access to key terrain for athletes, multi-discipline training programs, and recreational skiers alike. Installation is set to begin as soon as conditions allow, with the new T-Bar projected to open by December 1, 2025.

The existing Exhibition Poma lift and World Cup T-Bar will be removed. The new T-Bar will span 2,226 feet with a vertical rise of 602 feet. The upgraded surface lift will offer a smooth and efficient ride at a speed of 500 feet per minute, with the capacity to transport 1,100 skiers per hour.

The new T-Bar's loading area will be located 100 feet uphill from the BBTS/WVA Competition Center front deck, with the unloading area positioned at the bottom of The Chute — offering convenient access to key training terrain.

"This new T-Bar is an exciting investment in our mountain's infrastructure," said Tim Smith, President & General Manager of Waterville Valley Resort. "It will greatly improve our ability to support training camps, race and freestyle programs, and provide enhanced access for recreational skiers."

In addition to the new T-Bar, the resort plans to replace all damaged bubbles on the Tecumseh Express 6-Pack Chairlift with a more durable three-piece bubble. A prototype installed on Chair #66 has already delivered excellent results. The resort is also in the process of upgrading all trail signage to improve mountain navigation.

These strategic improvements reinforce Waterville Valley’s commitment to enhancing mountain access and maintaining a world-class winter experience for all skiers and snowboarders.
