Drive Train Assembly

Written 07/21/22

A HUGE shout out and thank you to our crews who have been hard at work in the heat all week! The entire Waterville Family is incredibly grateful for all your hard work and dedication!

This week, crews have been dispersed around the mountain. Some crews were working down in Parking Lot #9, where they are assembling lift towers and lift tower heads in preparation for the helicopter pickup! In concurrence with the lift tower assembly, another crew has been focused on the lower terminal build, where they’ve been assembling the terminal structure and drive train.

  • As the chairlift approaches the bottom terminal, the chairlift grip is detached from the haul rope and diverted to a separate track. The chairlift grip is then moved by the drive train, which is a series of wheels that transport the chairlift through the terminal, slowing the chairlift down enough for passengers to load the chair safety.
