Cross your fingers and toes
The trails are currently covered with a nice 1-2” of fresh snow from Sunday evening. While it’s not quite enough to start skiing, it is a good reminder that it can and will snow this winter! In fact, there’s even a chance of winter storm at the end of the week. I usually try not to get too excited more than 48 hours out from a weather event, but maybe a few extra snow dances and extra enthusiasm will help nurture the storm. Theoretically, if we see around 6 inches or more and cold enough temperatures we will begin working with snowmobiles to pack and smooth a few trails on the North End. The first trails to open are usually Lower Osceola, Bob’s Lookout, and Tripoli Road. Since this storm may have some mixed precipitation, don’t be surprised if we wait an extra day or two to let the snow dry out. I’ll continue to make updates as we move closer to Friday and the forecast becomes more reliable.
In the meantime, make sure you have your storage wax scraped and hats and gloves at the ready. If you need to update any of your equipment from pants to ski boots we’ve got you covered with a shop full of shiny new gear from Swix, Salomon, Atomic, and Fischer.
See you soon,
Ian
