Bullwheels Bound For Waterville Valley

The bullwheels are ready! MND Group is currently packing up our new bull wheels, which were manufactured at their plant in Chambery, France. In preparation for their voyage across the Atlantic, each bullwheel is shipped in several parts with assembly planned on-site here in Waterville Valley. These bull wheels will play an integral part in operating our new 6-pack bubble lift.

A bullwheel is a giant wheel positioned at the top and bottom of a chairlift. When operational, the bullwheel turns the haul rope, directing the rope around the wheel using pulley assemblies. Most chairlifts' have their primary braking system located at the bottom bullwheel, also known as the "drive bullwheel". The top bullwheel is known as the "return bullwheel".
